Ninth death due to corona in Punjab, 10 new cases in one day in Mohali, number of victims in the state 115

 

Mohali district of Punjab has started becoming the biggest hot spot of corona virus. The number of corona victims in the district rose to 36 after 10 more cases of corona positive patients came to light on Wednesday. This is far more than other affected districts of the state. Nawanshahr has the highest number of 19 cases after Mohali. A patient from Ropar died at Chandigarh PGI. This is the ninth death in Punjab from Corona.

A total of 16 new cases were registered on Wednesday. Of these, 10 are in Mohali, two in Jalandhar, two in Ludhiana and one each in Faridkot and Muktsar. With the exception of one case in Ludhiana, all were in contact with the person who was earlier found positive. Two new cases have come to light in Ludhiana, one involving a 15-year-old minor. He is the nephew of the person who joined the Tablighi class.

According to the health department, one infected person has died in Mohali district while five others have recovered and gone home. Out of total 19 patients of Nawanshahr, eight have been treated. In Amritsar district 2 out of 10 patients have died. In Jalandhar district 8 patients are undergoing treatment while in Hoshiarpur and Pathankot there are 7-7 patients.

In Hoshiarpur so far one patient has died and one patient has recovered. In Ludhiana, 2 out of 8 patients have died. Apart from these 5 patients are being treated in Mansa, 4 in Moga, 3 in Ropar, 2-2 in Fatehgarh Sahib and Faridkot, 1-1 in Patiala, Barnala and Kapurthala.
