District Superintendent of Police Harmanveer Singh Gill has been conducting a special drive in the city for the last few days to crack down on hotels involved in prostitution. On Monday, the DSP received confidential information related to prostitution in a hotel located at the back of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Market. Jangjit Singh and the CIA Police conducted the raid under the chairmanship of Inspector Kikkar Singh in charge of staff.

Women police sub-inspector Prabhjot Kaur was also present on the spot along with women police. During this time, police recovered 7 pairs from the hotel in an objectionable condition.

Informing about this, DSP Jangjit Singh and CIA Staff Inspector Kikkar Singh said that the raids carried out on his behalf included checking the CCTV cameras of the hotel, including checking the hotel staff on Aadhaar card for information from the staff and arrested them.

At the same time, the police had received a secret complaint about the hotel that prostitution had been going on for a long time. Officials said that preliminary action would be taken after a serious investigation into the matter.
