Three women were killed in a road accident in Batala's Gurdaspur district. The incident took place late Wednesday evening when the women were on their way to the gurdwara. On the way, a truck overturned, crushing all three. The three women died on the spot. Following the information, the police have registered a case against the accused truck driver. The bodies of the three women were handed over to their relatives after an autopsy on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Rajwant Kaur, Paramjit Singh Kaur and Satwant Kaur. The three are said to be close to each other. According to information received, he was going to visit the gurdwara from all the three houses late on Wednesday evening. The speeding tipper truck loaded with sand grabbed the women from behind. The uncontrollable tipper later overturned in a roadside field. All three women died on the spot in the accident. 

People rushed to the spot and apprehended the accused tipper driver, identified as Kahnuwan, a resident of Satindra Singh, and handed over to the police of Sekhwan police station, Naushara Majha Singh. Chowki in-charge ASI Baljinder Singh said that the police has registered a case against Satinder Singh for negligently driving the truck.
On the other hand, after this accident, the atmosphere in the village became dirty. Mourning continued, especially in the homes of the dead. Families were seen mourning each other. Everyone in the village said that the three women who died were close friends. They served in the gurdw ਅਤੇr and attended any religious function together. Only memories remain in his village
