The atmosphere in Harchowal town of Gurdaspur district became tense when the elders of both the parties sat against each other to settle a minor quarrel between the children. It came from firing. Sukhmanpreet Singh and Tejpreet Kaur said that there was a minor altercation between the 11th class students. A decision was also taken, but on Tuesday night, the same children from the other side entered the house with some of their companions and started firing indiscriminately. Meanwhile, Jasbir Kaur died while four others, including landlord Niranjan Singh, were critically injured. Complaints have already been lodged against him in the police station.About 25 people entered the house on Tuesday night and about 50 went round. On the other hand, the police of Hargobindpur police station has registered a case of murder against Lakhwinder Singh, Sahil Singh, Amritpal Singh and a total of ten others.

 During the police investigation, 14 empty shells were recovered from the spot. In this regard SSP Batala Upinderjit Singh Ghuman said that various teams have been formed under the leadership of DSP (Sri Hargobindpur) to nab the accused.

Meanwhile, DSP Hargobindpur Sanjeev Kumar said that it would be too early to say anything in this regard. It is said that all the shooter students are from 11th class. The pistol was fired at 315 bore. Police are investigating how the pistol reached the accused, whether the weapon was licensed or illegal. The absconding accused will be arrested soon.
